Two Sauces. One Winning Game-Day Bite
Football season is back, which means it’s time for big plays, good company and a game-day spread that brings everybody to the table.
And around here, it’s all about the sauce.
Southern barbecue is world-famous, and Asian flavors are legendary. Growing up in Georgia, my Grandma — my Nai Nai — made one of my favorite after-school snacks: teriyaki pork chops. That combination of Southern comfort and Asian-inspired flavor continues to influence the way I cook today.
These Pork Sliders with Sweet Chili Peach Slaw bring flavors together in one easy, crowd-friendly game-day dish.
Pork is perfect for game day because it’s flavorful, versatile and forgiving. Pair tender pork with Wild Wild East™ Asian BBQ Teriyaki Pineapple Sauce, fresh pineapple and a crunchy slaw tossed with My Sweet Hottie™ Sweet Chili Peach Sauce, and you’ve got sliders that hit sweet, savory, and tangy all at once.
Pork Game Day Sliders
Makes approximately 12 sliders
Ingredients
- 1 dozen slider rolls
- 2 pork tenderloins, approximately 2 lbs. total
- 1 bottle Wild Wild East™ Asian BBQ Teriyaki Pineapple Sauce (8 oz.)
- 1 fresh pineapple, sliced into rings
- 1 10-oz. bag slaw mix, Asian-style or your favorite variety
- ½ Vidalia® Sweet Onion, julienned
- 1 bottle My Sweet Hottie™ Sweet Chili Peach Sauce/Dressing (8 oz.)
- 4 oz. fresh cilantro, chopped
Directions
1. Sauce the pork.
Coat the pork tenderloins generously with Wild Wild East™ Asian BBQ Teriyaki Pineapple Sauce, reserving some sauce for brushing and serving.
2. Cook the pork.
Grill or roast the tenderloins until cooked through, brushing with additional Wild Wild East sauce as they cook. Allow the pork to rest before slicing it thinly for the sliders.
3. Add the pineapple.
Grill or sear the fresh pineapple rings until lightly caramelized. Cut them into slider-sized pieces.
4. Make the Sweet Chili Peach slaw.
Combine the slaw mix, julienned Vidalia Sweet Onion and chopped cilantro. Toss with My Sweet Hottie™ Sweet Chili Peach Sauce/Dressing until everything is lightly coated.
5. Build your sliders.
Layer sliced pork onto each slider roll, followed by grilled pineapple and a generous spoonful of Sweet Chili Peach slaw. For even more flavor, drizzle a little extra Wild Wild East or My Sweet Hottie on top before serving.
The Wild Wild East gives the pork that rich, savory Asian BBQ flavor, while My Sweet Hottie Sweet Chili Peach adds a sweet-and-sour finish to the crunchy slaw.
The result? A slider that brings a whole lot of flavor to your game-day table!
Serve them on a platter, put both bottles of sauce on the side and let your guests get saucy.
