Daikon Miso Soup

Traditionally in Asia, noodle soups had a bone soup base topped with braised or stir fried meat and greens--a hearty comfort in a bowl.


  • 1 can chicken/vegetable broth *
  • ½ t garlic powder (or 2 minced cloves)
  • ¼ t white pepper
  • 1 t. sesame oil
  • 2 cups daikon chunks
  • 2 chopped green onions
  • 1 t miso paste


Cook daikon in hot broth pot until soft. Reduce heat and mix in miso (do not boil after adding miso). Serve in bowls, garnish with scallions.
*Shortcut: ¼ cup You Saucy Thing soy ginger Vidalia sauce replaces first (4)
